Top-tier German soccer side Bayer 04 Leverkusen have expanded their partnership with Barmenia Versicherungen.

The insurance firm, in addition to its role as main and shirt sponsor of the Bundesliga outfit, will serve as the main sponsor of Leverkusen’s recently founded esports division, B04esports.

The deal will initially run until the end of the 2018/19 season.

Barmenia will see its branding feature on the shirt of Leverkusen esports player Marvin ‘M4RV’ Hintz, who was signed by the club in late 2017.

In addition, the company will serve as the presenter of a live esports game from the Barmenia Lodge of the BayArena, and will organise its own offline esports tournament, as well as providing opportunities for fans to meet Hintz.

Barmenia first partnered with Leverkusen in 2016, and is set to remain the side’s shirt sponsor until the end of the 2019/20 season.

German sports news outlet Sponsors values its commitment to the club at around €6 million per year.
